By fits and starts, rude, lewd, funny, OILCAN is a rare agony of a piece that captures our own time. Against political and social challenges, the players blend art, activism and Glaswegian humour with modern rap and traditional Scottish airs to tease out the challenges of leadership

and deliver us towards hope.

A leader grapples with

personal and political

crises, confronts the nature of social

media, and ultimately herself.

A  chorus, struggle from impotence

to self-reliance, learning that

the only enduring grease for oiling the wheels of power is thoughtful, committed, citizens.

Indeed, as Margaret Mead told us, it is the only thing that ever has.

And the music soars...
